Himashree Bhattacharyya is a MD (Community Medicine) and presently working as an Assistant Professor in NEIGRIHMS. She has more than 10 years of teaching experience in the field. She is involved in several extramural research projects as PI and Co-PI. Her area of speciality is Maternal and Adolescent health, Nutrition and Infectious diseases. Dr. Himashree has completed her MD from Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh and had then worked in NEIGRIHMS for 3 years as Senior Resident Doctor. She joined as Assistant Professor in NEIGRIHMS in 2014. She has completed her fellowship in FAIMER (Foundation for the Advancement of International Medical Education and Research) from CMCL, Ludhiana. She has more than 20 publications to her credit.
Dr. Himashree has organized several important events in the Department including the 2nd North East Regional Conference of IAPSM in October 2015 as Joint Organizing Secretary and the National Workshop on “Nutrition Transition” in March 2017 as Organizing Secretary. Thereafter she was the Organizing Secretary for the regional workshop on “e-learning.” She was also the chief editor for the Souvenir released during the 2nd NE Regional Conference on the theme “addressing the public health problems in the North East region: Challenges and Opportunities.” She has published a Scientific report on “Nutrition Transition” based on the National Workshop conducted in NEIGRIHMS. She is actively involved in medical education in her Institute. She is an active member of several important public health organizations.
